Imran Khan Again Meets Mohammad Bin Salman; Apprises MBS On Kashmir Issue

Pakistan PM Imran Khan arrived in Jeddah and again met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman (MBS) and informed him of the latest developments in Jammu and Kashmir, a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office said.

Khan discussed the so-called “grave situation” in Jammu and Kashmir after the Modi government’s decision to revoke the region of its autonomy by scrapping Article 370 of its constitution.

During his meeting with MBS, PM Khan strongly denounced the recent attacks in Saudi Arabia on Aramco’s oil facilities.

The leadership of both countries also discussed ways to strengthen economic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, the PMO statement said.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfikar Bukhari, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mehmood, and Pakistan’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia Raja Ali Ejaz.

Khan is in Jeddah for a two-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, ahead of his trip to New York for the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Earlier, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir held meetings with Pakistani PM Imran Khan, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmoud Qureshi.

While Saudi Arabia expressed concern over India’s unilateral decision to scrap Kashmir’s special status, the UAE called it Delhi’s internal matter. Other Gulf countries – Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman – have remained silent.
