India Army Battling Pakistani Terrorists at 10,500 Feet in North Kashmir

At an altitude of over 10,500 feet in North Kashmir, Indian Army prepares for an ambush to neutralize Pakistan backed terrorists. The intelligence report reveals that terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaishe-Muhammed (JeM) will try to infiltrate into North Kashmir from their launch pads.

“There are approximately 250 terrorists in 27 launch pads across the border. There is neither a dip nor a change in policy on terrorism in Pakistan,” Brigadier YS Ahlawat, commander of a Brigade at the LoC told India Today.

The Indian Army has approved a robust posture along the LoC tracking the movement of terrorists and even Pakistan Army close to the LoC. As the soldiers spot some suspicious movement across the LoC, they open fire. “We are taking no chances. In this high altitude sector the moment there is any unusual movement close to the fence at night the troops open speculative fire,” an Indian army captain said.

“Pakistan wants to disturb the panchayat and urban body elections in Jammu and Kashmir. It does not want democracy to be strengthened in the state. But we are alert and will not let Pakistan succeed,” Brigadier Ahlawat said. The Indian defence forces recognise it is not possible to protect every candidate during the panchayat elections. Terrorists will try and target the candidates to spread fear and ensure democracy does not win.

“Our aim is to ensure that more and more Pakistan sponsored terrorists are eliminated at the LoC itself. Very robust operations are also being conducted in the depth areas or in the hinterland to create an enabling environment for elections,” says a senior officer monitoring the big picture in Srinagar.

Across the LoC, there is a heightened presence of Pakistan Army. Additional resources appear to have been pumped in to fill in the gaps, exploited by the Indian Army special forces to infiltrate and destroy the terrorist launch pads.
