Irony Or What! Russian Song Threatens To Nuke US With Sarmat ICBM; Ukraine Bombs Out The ‘World Famous Lyricist’

Russian Duma MP, Denis Maydanov, sang a song praising the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile while threatening to strike the United States. Former Roscomos boss Dmitry Rogozin reportedly wrote the lyrics of the song.

Incidentally, Rogozin was wounded after someone leaked his information while having dinner at the Shesh-Besh hotel on the outskirts of Donetsk. Precision-guided munitions, most likely, targeted the restaurant.

Meanwhile, the video was released on December 17, the Day of the Strategic Missile Forces in the Russian Armed Forces. The song also includes a clip of Russian President Vladimir Putin saying that a world without Russia is worthless.

The song glorifies the Sarmat Missile, boasting that neither sanctions nor the American defense system could stop it. “From Mother Russia, Sarmats are staring into the distance at the United States. The only comfort for Sarmats is to disturb NATO’s dreams,” Maydanov sings.

The launch of the Sarmat missile is shown in the footage. An excerpt from Russian President Vladimir Putin’s speech that reportedly discusses making a decision if Russia were to be destroyed appears at the end of the video.

“We have a legitimate right to respond. Yes, it would be a global catastrophe for humanity. But why do we need such a world in which Russia does not exist?” Putin said.

According to Ukrainian media, Maydanov described the performance as an “ideological weapon” in an outright admission that the footage is intended to be used as nuclear blackmail.

Maydanov stated that he is well aware that, at a time when actual hostilities are taking place, ideological weapons such as this clip are also required. He hoped that Moscow’s foes would reconsider the folly of speaking to Russia in terms of force.

He believed it would help calm the ‘hotheads of foreign politicians’ fomenting World War III. Nonetheless, the video can be interpreted as Moscow’s latest warning to the United States and its allies for their support for Ukraine.

Sarmat Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM)

The Sarmat missile mentioned in the song is the RS-28 Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), a thermonuclear weapon introduced to Russia’s arsenal in 2018 and dubbed “Satan II.”

The missile will replace the outdated Voyevoda systems known as SS-18 Satan by NATO. In April, Dmitry Rogozin, the former head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos, said that the Sarmat is the most formidable missile of its group in terms of range and warheads.

Rogozin stated that Sarmats are faster than Voyevodas and “can strike targets at practically unlimited range.” Furthermore, the missile is said to be capable of evading all the existing air defense systems worldwide.

In April, Russia conducted a test launch of the Sarmat super-heavy ICBM, also known as Satan II. The Russian Army does not yet have access to these missiles, though.

The weapon has been perceived as the deadliest threat to the United States and its allies. Russian official media commentators issued several threats against the United States in late May, including that Vladimir Putin could use two missiles to destroy the “entire east coast.”

Similar remarks were made by Dmitry Rogozin, who said the missiles could obliterate significant portions of the United States before turning to the United Kingdom and asserting that they could reach British targets in 200 seconds.

The Satan II missile is reported to be capable of carrying warheads with an obliteration force 50 times greater than the Hiroshima bomb.

RS-28 Sarmat missile

In a 2018 state-of-the-nation address, Putin initially referred to the Sarmat missile as the “next generation” of nuclear missile technology. The missile is 116 feet (35.3 meters) long and 200 tons in weight.

The missile system can adopt unpredictable paths and trajectories that substantially impede [even] the most sophisticated missile defense systems from eliminating them.

Satan II includes sophisticated navigation systems and, most likely, decoys to fool anti-missile defense systems. Experts believe this could consist of a few dozen highly light decoys built to look like the warhead, resulting in a kill vehicle hitting the wrong target.

According to CSIS, compared to the US Minuteman III, which can carry a maximum load of 1.425 megatons, it has a maximum payload capacity of about 50 megatons of TNT. That being said, Russian experts and media have asserted that it would be difficult to find methods of intercepting Sarmat in the coming years.
