Local Militants Threaten “Pakistan Sponsored Terrorists” For Killing J&K Cops?

Why are Kashmiri Militants threatening Pakistan Sponsored Terrorists in the Kashmir Valley? Is a feud brewing between Militants over their plans and ambitions in Jammu and Kashmir? A poster written in Urdu surfaced in Kashmir slamming Pakistan based terror outfit – Hizbul Mujahideen for the death of three special police officers (SPOs) of J&K Police, according to a report in TimesNow.

The poster is believed to be circulated by an unknown outfit, the Pulwama and Shopian Tigers, according to Indian Media, however, its authenticity has not been verified yet. The poster has been directed towards Hizbul Mujahideen commander Riyaz Naikoo and demands him to clarify his stand on the assassination of local policemen. The poster has also warned of an uprising against Hizbul militants if they don’t stop targeting J&K policemen and their families.

Slamming the attack on innocent policemen ‘un-Islamic’, the poster asks Naikoo that why is he not pushing the policemen to resign, as they are only struggling to feed their families.

Meanwhile, a video of a woman special police officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir announced her resignation on social media. The video comes days after three SPOs were abducted and shot dead by militants groups in Shopian district. Shortly after the killings, at least six SPOs announced their resignations.

“I am Rafeeqa Akhtar from Bonigam Kulgam. I have been working as an SPO for the last 15 years, but today I am leaving the job according to my will,” the woman SPO said in the video. This is the first time a woman police official has announced her resignation in a video message.
