P2P buses resume ops in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS, June 3 — o-point (P2P) buses hit the road again in this city and one town of the province after being given the green light to resume transporting passengers.

The operation of the P2P bus services was stopped for almost three months by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Now operational are the P2P buses with daily routes from the City of Malolos and Santa Maria town to Trinoma Mall in North Edsa, Quezon City.

However, P2P buses have not yet operated from the towns of Plaridel, Balagtas and Pandi to the same destination.

Every passenger will have to fill up a form from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for contact tracing purposes following the guidelines of the IATF-EID, Department of Transportation (DOTr), and LTFRB.

Grace Joaquin, president of the Precious Grace Transport Corporation, said on Wednesday that the resumption of P2P operations is in line with the start of the general community quarantine (GCQ) in this province.

“From Robinson’s Place Malolos to North Edsa at the Trinoma Mall, 11 units of P2P buses were deployed while 15 units of P2P buses were divided in the two terminals in Barangays Caypombo and Santa Clara in the town of Santa Maria,” she said.

Joaquin said the number of allowed passengers on board the buses is only 23 from the previous 50. Minimum fare is PHP100.

“There is also a change in the time of trips on specific routes,” she said.

In Malolos City, Joaquin said the trip is now from 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., with an interval of 30 minutes.

At P2P terminals in Santa Maria in the villages of Caypombo and Sta. Clara, the interval will be one hour from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

“After 3 p.m., the interval is every 30 minutes up to the last trip at 9 p.m.,” Joaquin said.

For those traveling back to Malolos City, Joaquin said the trips are from 6:15 a.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Likewise, the trips from Sta. Clara to Santa Maria from Trinoma Mall in North Edsa, Quezon City is from 6:15 a.m. to 8:45 pm.

For the Caypombo trip to Santa Maria from North Edsa, Quezon City, it will be from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.For any query with respect to this article or any other content requirement, please contact Editor at contentservices@htlive.com
