Thailand Offers to Mediate Between US and North Korea

The United States should support open any channel for dialogue with North Korea, and Thailand is ready to facilitate and organize a meet between representatives North Korea and the United States. This was stated in a report in RIA Novosti.

Such a proposal was made at the meeting between Thai officials and and the US special representative for North Korea, Joseph Yun, who is in Bangkok on a visit. Yun also met with Deputy Foreign Minister of Thailand, Veerasak Futrakul. At the meeting, Joseph Yun stressed the US is keen to defuse tensions with North Korea through a peaceful dialogue.

Earlier, as already reported by EurAsian Times, the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that Washington is ready to negotiate with Pyongyang “without preconditions” and at any time, but the question of the willingness and interest of the North Korean leadership is to be ascertained.
