Thirty high tech companies will compete for US Air Force contracts totaling $950 million on open systems design, modern software and algorithm development in order to enable Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) capabilities, the US Defense Department said.

“[The companies] have been awarded a ceiling $950 million …contract to compete for future efforts associated with the maturation, demonstration and proliferation of capability across platforms and domains, leveraging open systems design, modern software and algorithm development in order to enable JADC,” the Defense Department said in a press release on Thursday.
Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) is the Defense Department’s concept to connect sensors from the US Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force into a single network, according to the Congressional Research Service.
The companies include Black Sage Technologies, Clarity Innovations, Deloitte Consulting, Frontier Technology, Global Infotek, Greystones Consulting Group, Government Research Specialists, Hughes Network Systems, Hypergiant Galactic Systems, Kymeta Corporation and Mission Solutions, the release said.
Other companies include Net Vision Consultants, NXM Labs, Oracle America, PARASANTI, PLEXSYS Interface Products, Polysentry, Rackner, Research Innovations, Rolls-Royce North American Technologies, SAAB Sensis Corporation, Scientific Systems and SLICEUP, the release added.
The remaining companies are Software AG Government Solutions, Spectral Sensor Solutions, Systems & Technology Research, UMBRA LAB, XL Scientific and Yakabod Federal Solutions, according to the release.
US Navy $172M Contract Launches Production of Mid-Band Signal Jammer – Raytheon
In another Press Release, the first production lot of a mid-range signal jammer will begin with an award of a $171.6 million US Navy Contract, Raytheon announced.
“With its power and ability to jam multiple radars simultaneously, NGJ-MB [Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band] will fundamentally change the way the Navy conducts airborne electronic attack,” Raytheon Vice President of Electronic Warfare Systems Annabel Flores said in a press release.
NGJ-MB is the Navy’s advanced electronic attack system that offensively denies, disrupts and degrades enemy technology, including air-defense systems and communications, the release said.

The system uses the latest digital, software-based and Active Electronically Scanned Array technologies, which allows operators to non-kinetically attack significantly more targets and at greater distances than with existing countermeasures, the release also said.
The $171.6 million contract award follows last week’s decision to advance the program into the production and deployment phase, the release added.
NGJ-MB previously completed more than 145 hours of developmental flight-testing, plus over 3,100 hours of lab testing at naval bases in the US states of California and Maryland, according to the release.
