Indian Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has decided to enhance the security for the Air Force and Navy Chiefs. Indian MHA reviewed internal security across the country and decided to upgrade security with Z-Plus for Air Force and Navy Chiefs.

After a thorough review of the threat perception of IAF chief Air Marshal BS Dhanoa and chief of Naval staff Admiral Sunil Lanba in the wake of the current India-Pakistan conflict, the decision was taken by Ministry of Home Affairs to enhance the security cover of the officials.
“The chiefs of Air Staff and Naval Staff would be given the Z-plus security”, a government official said. Army chief Gen Bipin Rawat has already been given the Z-plus security. The official emphasised saying, ” close proximity security of the chiefs of Air Staff and Naval Staff would continue to be given by the commandos of the respective forces, and the peripheral security would be given by the central and state security agencies”.
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after nearly 44 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed in Jammu and Kashmir when terrorists targeted a convoy with a car bomb in the Pulwama district.
Amid the current conflict, Indian Air Force crossed the Line of Control (LoC), intruding from the Muzaffarabad sector in Pakistan administered Kashmir and allegedly bombed terror hideouts. Later, Pakistan retaliated with a large air formation, comprising 24 fighter jets, including F-16s.
