India is all set to integrate BrahMos Missiles with Su-30MKI. to The Indian state aircraft corporation Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) began equipping the Su-30MKI Air Force fighters of India with BrahMos missiles. As reported on Monday, the newspaper The Asian Age, citing sources in the country’s defense department, the project is scheduled to be completed by 2020.

“The successful testing of the BrahMos air-launched cruise missile from the Su-30MKI fighter plane was held on November 22, which allows us to begin the final stage of integrating the most maneuverable airplane of the Indian Air Force – Su-30MKI with BrahMos Missiles the Defense Ministry official said.

According to the Defense Ministry official, the complex process of integration of BrahMos missiles with Su-30MKI includes “electrical, mechanical and software modifications of the aircraft. This project is expected to be completed by 2020.”

At the Dubai Airshow 2017, the Russian-Indian company BrahMos concluded the first contract with the Indian Defense Ministry to supply cruise missiles for 50 Su-30MKI fighters. Additionally, the experts state that since India became a full member of the missile technology control regime (MTCR), the range of the BrahMos missile can now be extended to 400 km.
