South Africa is as Guilty As Saudi Arabia For Killing Innocents in Yemen

Ever since the beginning of the Yemen war which has brought Yemen on the verge of a feminine, South Africa has increased its arms export to Saudi Arabia and UAE significantly. At the back end of the war where we see the Saudi led coalition at ground zero, the Yemen war has been seen by South Africa as an opportunity to expand its arms trade.

Yemen has been in a state of war since 2015 as Saudi Arabia started the offensive to dethrone the present political establishments. As reported by the Middle East Eye, South Africa has also been helping Saudi Arabia with developing its own arms manufacturing units. Riyadh’s aggression on Yemen has left many dead including innocent women and children and South Africa is equally responsible for this massacre.

As per the latest figures released by the Yemeni ministry of human rights, 600,000 civilians have been killed in Saudi’s offensive since the start of the war. Clearly, South Africa’s hands are as much painted in the blood of innocent Yemeni people as those of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

As per the annual report prepared by the South African National Conventional Arms Control Committee, South Africa in 2016 and 2017 sold arms, ammunition, armoured vehicles and other weapons to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. These deals amounted to $228 million as reported by PressTV.

Not just South Africa but certain western allies of Saudi Arabia and the UAE are supplying arms and ammunition too causing a human rights tragedy in Yemen. According to some reports, even the French Special Forces are supporting the Saudi led coalition and its ambitions to take over the port city of Hudaydah which is a strategic location in Yemen. Hudaydah port is the one which receives the major chunk of shipment of humanitarian aid that comes to Yemen.
